Intel Processor Model Details
INTEL's desktop processors currently sold include the Pentium dual core range, Core 2 duo processors, Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 range of processors. In each range there is a series of processors. All core i3 processors are dual core processors with multi-tasking capabilities. Thus Core i3 processor is dual core processor and is available at different clock speeds giving you many speed options at different price points. Core i3 550 processor has a clock speed of 3.2Ghz while the Core i3 560 has a speed of 3.33Ghz. The Core i5 processors are superior to the core i3 range, having more cores (4 cores) and more cache. The core i7 has even more cores (6 cores) and even more cache giving you much superior processing speeds. The motherboards for these processors will have to be chosen with care considering your maximum RAM requirements and graphical processing needs. Motherboards are available from INTEL like the DH55TC and other manufacturers like ASUS, MSI etc.
Intel has changed the way they name their processors in PCs and laptops. Formerly, they were named with the clock speed of the processor, for example a Pentium 4 2.8GHz. They now have a name consisting of a brand followed by a numerical reference, for example, an Intel Pentium M 740. Intel Pentium is the brand and M740 is the number. This new naming convention gives no immediate indication as to the general speed or capacity of the processor. In INTEL core 2 duo E7500 processor, INTEL core 2 duo is the brand and
